The Sacrament of Marriage requires a time of spiritual preparation. According to the Common Policy adopted by the Bishops of New Jersey, this preparation requires attendance at a Marriage Preparation Program (Pre-Cana) as well as sessions with a parish priest or deacon. Therefore couples should make arrangements at the rectory at least one year before the planned wedding date and before finalizing any social plans.
